WHAT IS ALPHA-GAL?
Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS) — also called red meat immune reaction or tick bite food sensitivity — is triggered by a lone star tick. It causes an IgE immune response to a sugar molecule (galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose) found in mammalian products such as beef, pork, dairy, and many hidden everyday products.
